Working on the Music, Extra Cheese Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, & Watchmen

Yesterday I hopped on the NJ Transit to “Morris Town” to work on the Twist of Fate score with our composer.  The train ride was an hour long but it went by fast thankfully!

Got there an hour later and had a quick snack with the composer (Dorian) at Pete’s Restaurant.  I love the small town feel of Morris Town and the extra cheese pizza was great!

We went to his Studio afterwards and sat down and watched the film.

What we were doing was basically hearing the films musical score out of extremely loud speakers so we could figure out what’s too loud, and other technical issues.  I’ve never watched the film with someone from beginning to end and that was very weird.  I offered to fast forward over scenes that didn’t have music but Dorian wanted to get the rhythm of the film.

Naturally this made me even more nervous but after the film was finished, he said how it was weird seeing it all in context because he scores the film scene by scene and he had some really good things to say about it so I was happy.  The version he saw wasn’t perfect, and still missing shots, but all in all, very good feedback.

As I type this I’m back on the train
